Nestled in the Malvern Hills, is our secluded cottage with private hot tub. Reflecting her namesake, Elsies cottage is full of soul and authenticity.
Set in a tiered wild garden and ancient woodland on the slopes of Chase End Hill, this two‑bedroom stone cottage blends rustic charm with boutique luxury. Inside you’ll find oak beams, handmade copper bathroom finishes, and a roll‑top bath. Outside, dine on wood‑fired pizza, light the fire pit under stars, and soak in the wood‑fired hot tub as dusk falls
This bewitching spot has an other worldliness that writers and musicians of the hills understood. The woodlands will draw you in and hill tops will beckon. This land is etched with epic rivers and green valleys.
In this little homestead you will feel wrapped in the warmth of stone & oak, with plenty of special moments; watch flames flicker on the fire pit and in the hearth, Cook rustic pizzas at dusk, enjoy soaking outdoors whilst woodsmoke fills the air under starry skies. Choose between two boutique bedrooms perfect to enjoy with friends or just luxuriate in the space for two.
The romance of this secluded cottage with your own private hot tub draws the lovers, as well as the playful. Artists flock here, drawing from the rich history of those who have gone before. Perfect for solo travellers or with friends.

Luxury rustic cottage Interiors
Elsies cottage is full of rustic charm. Oak beams and inglenook fireplace, stone floors and walls sit alongside the comforts of modern living with warm floors, central heating, wifi and entertainment, both digital and analogue with games, crafting and yoga kit all provided.
There's no getting away from the fact that Elsies is a secluded cottage, so the Kitchen has all you need to cook a simple brunch or a gourmet meal. Deep forest green cabinetry, warm limestone floors ensure you'll feel at home to cook, dine and while away hours in this space.
Luxury Bathing
The opulent downstairs bathroom is a real treat. reclaimed copper panels line the walls behind the iron roll top bath . Indulge in a rainfall shower, burnished copper taps set in oak. Light the candles and incense and wash away all your cares in this little sanctuary.
Perfect nights sleep
Choose between two bedrooms. The garden room is bright and airy with doors to the terrace and views over the garden and can be arranged as a twin or king. Mustard walls, vintage finds with boho lighting makes this room a real haven..
Up the little staircase is the cosy oak framed bedroom made for two. Enjoy the charm of cottage windows valley views, chandelier and ancient leather ledgers repurposed as bedside tables.
Cook outdoors
The oak lined terrace gets the best of the sun. With views across the wild garden. Dine outdoors from breakfast to supper. Cook up a pizza or BBQ feast, light the fire pit to take the chill off and listen to the sounds of nature.
Hot tub
A wood-burning hot tub is tucked into the hillside for complete privacy. Soak under the stars in the midnight hours with the smell of wood smoke, fairy lights, bubbles and the hoot of an owl to keep you company.

How many does Elsie's sleep? The cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps 4
How are beds arranged? The downstairs garden room, has french doors out to the terrace - it can be arranged as twins or a super-king. Upstairs in the eve's of hte cottage is a romantic king bedroom with cottage windows overlooking the garden
Bathroom
How many bathrooms does the cottage have? Elsie's has one large bathroom with roll top bath and walk in rainfall shower. Heated stone floor runs throughout. Crackled glazed tiles, reclaimed Verdigris copper panels alongside bronze taps, vintage sink unit with space enough for your beauty routines.
Do you supply towels? Yes fluffy towels, robes as well as organic toiletries, oils & candles to properly indulge.
Kitchen diner
What cooking facilities are there? The kitchen has a built in electric hob and oven & microwave.
What coffee making facilities are there? We provide a kettle, cafetiere, and milk frother as well as ground coffee for you to make your favourite brew.
Is there a freezer? There is a retro style free standing fridge freezer in the kitchen.
Is there a dishwasher - yes there's a small integrated dishwasher.
Is the kitchen well equipped - The cottage has crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and serving dishes to cook up a meal. Underfloor heating, marble tops and copper finishes sits alongside malvern stone walls, oak posts and deep green units.
Is there dining space? yes a rustic table seats 4 people wit ha bench and two velvet upholstered chairs.
Sitting room
Is there a fire? Yes there is a wood-burner to cosy up by set in a inglenook fireplace.
Do you provide wood? Yes we provide a basket of wood, kindling, firelighters and matches.
Is there a TV and I can stream shows at Elsie's ? Yes we have a smart TV wit happs to watch your favourite shows.
What seating is in the lounge? We have two lovely Loaf sofas to snuggle up in.
Dog Friendly
Do you allow dogs? Yes, We are happy to welcome one dog to the property and provide a crate, bed and bowls. We charge £25 to cover additional cleaning- just add a dog stay at the checkout.
Is the garden dog proof?The garden is pretty wild and not completely dog proof. But there's plenty of walks direct from the gate.
Outdoor dining
Is there a space to dine outside? The terrace at Elsie's cottage has a lovely dining table with sail, and is perfect for soaking up valley views.
Is there a BBQ? Yes we have a ceramic BBQ which uses charcoal.
Is there a Pizza oven? Yes but there is also a pizza stone to use on the BBQ.
Do you allow Children? Elsie's is not particularly child friendly with a steep drop off the terrace and garden. We welcome older children and teens but it isn't really built for under 5's.
Do you have baby facilities? We do offer a travel cot, high chair and baby bath - however we don't feel Elsie's is the right fit for toddlers.
Hampers and Food
What do you provide for our stay? We provide a hamper with bread, milk, tea, coffee and teas as well as a few treats like marshmallow and a bottle of wine.
Do you offer hampers? Yes we offer a range of hampers - A breakfast hamper with local produce to cook up a full English. We also offer a BBQ pack and pizza Kit - you can add these at checkout when booking.
Hot tub
Does the cottage have a hot tub?Yes a the hot tub is hunkered into the side of the hill, with views across the valley.
Is the hot tub heated for us? Yes we heat the hot tub for your arrival - It is wood fired, we provide wood, kindling and firelighters to reheat it during your stay.
Garden
Is the garden secure? The garden is large rambling and wild. There is a lawned area with loungers and terrace for dining and outdoor cooking and the hot tub. There are gates from the track. Whilst the garden is fenced it is not completely dog secure.
Parking
Is there parking at the cottage? Yes Elsies cottage has a parking space at the end of the garden, it is also to park an additional car on the verge outside.
Where is Elsie's cottage? Our Malvern Hills cottage is tucked up a track from the hamlet of White Leaved Oak, it sits on the side of Ragged Stone Hill. Elsie's sits on the border of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire at the southern end of the Malvern Hills. The easiest way to find it is via what three words.
Walking
Are there walks nearby? Yes there are walks straight from the gate with woodlands and hills on your doorstep. You can walk the length of the Malverns from your doorstep.
Many venture towards the Forest of Dean for walking, cycling and canoeing the Wye valley.

Eating
Pubs - Farmers Arms Birtsmorton (our local) for good beer and pub food. The Swan Inn Hanley Swan - for good food and a lovely garden. The Inn at Welland - for gastro pub food and lovely setting. Ledbury offers wood fired pizzas, curry, Thai and great fish and chips. For fine diners try Verzon House - for cocktails, Chase Gin and Herefordshire beef or The Cottage In the woods, for amazing views. The Nest as the home of the scotch egg company and wonderful rustic charm. For more refined dining head for The cottage in the woods or Butchers Arms in Eldersfield

Days out
We recommend:
- Eastnor Castle with deer park, home of Land Rover off-road Experience as well as gardens and a maze.
- Eastnor Pottery - if you fancy throwing. pot.
- The Forest of Dean, for Puzzlewood, Sculpture trail, synods Yat and more
- Ledbury offers a great independent high street, whilst Upton-Upon-Severn is a lovely river town with plenty of music festivals from Blues, to folk.
- Just ten minutes drive is the Three Counties Showground home to RHS spring show as well as county agriculture shows, music and winter glow events as well as monthly giant flea markets.

Activities
If you're the outdoors type, Elsies is perfect. Walk the Malvern's from your front gate, or bring bikes to explore lanes or the many wooded tracks.
Close by The Wye valley and Forest of Dean offer some superb walking and mountain bike trails, as well as downhill tracks for the more adventurous.
The river Wye is perfect for a paddle either by canoe or on a paddleboard.
You can also try guided wild swimming on the wye or go paddling on the Avon at Twynning.
